That Alpine <3

Any idea what this car is?

The one on the left? I’m pretty sure it’s a Simca 6 Fourgonnette.

Somehow I’m sure she smokes...
That picture with the A110 is epic. Could use more rally lights though.

She’s thinking about sharing one with Pescarolo at that very moment.
I really don’t know why it’s missing a bank of lights across the roof. How he sees anything at night is beyond me.

Hahaha... You know she’s a Bond girl, right?

In a terrible movie, yeah. And she had a fling with Braveheart. Is that photo of her with the 5 from an ad, do you know? I’ve been seeing it for years, but I’ve never been sure what it’s from.
![]() 11/17/2015 at 17:55 |

Maybe an ad for Gauloises? I don’t know actually, can’t imagine it being for Renault as the 5 is dented and she’s not of an age looking like that before the Supercinque.
I think the pictures are from this . But the description is rubbish as she would have been like what, 13 years old in 1979?

Ah, interesting. Some nice pictures. The copyright on the bottom of one of the pages says 1983, so she was 16 or 17. Still not quite legal considering some of those photos, but the French have their own rules about that stuff.

Nothing illegal about this, not even in Japan/The Netherlands. Well, maybe that nipple is open to debate. During the shoot she was 15 though, the pictures are from 1982. According to this other ebay lot .
Why was Sophie this popular in Japan, it’s not her only “book”!
![]() 11/20/2015 at 03:52 |

Yeah, a 15 year old nipple wouldn’t really fly in America. Especially when she’s in bed. How was she popular in Japan then? She had only been in a couple French movies. They were popular, but I wouldn’t think they made it to Japan. I could see after she was a Bond girl. Weird. They latch on to the most random things.

Well, in bed she is alright. But do you think it’s erotic? Of course such a definition is open to debate but this definitely doesn’t seem to be pornographic to me.
The Japanese are really strange indeed. I told you about the Dolly Dots being popular over there. We had another artist making it big over there.

I don’t think it’s pornographic, either. It is suggestive, though. But, a lovely picture. More playful than erotic, I guess.
I’ve never heard of Mr. Joling. I wonder what they like so much about him. He seems a little like a Dutch Michael Bolton. The Dolly Dots I kind of get. They’re kooky. You could see a Japanese group doing the same shtick.

The Japanese are awesome but I don’t get their liking for Gerard Joling either. But if there’s one Japanese band I love it’s Casiopea. So energetic.

Wow, I love that. I hadn’t heard of them before. I’m a big fan of these 60’s bands from Singapore that kind of did an earlier, surfier version of that stuff. I have this one on the ol’ Fuldamobil Youtube channel.

I still don’t know how I ever ran into Casiopea. I think a drummer friend of mine nodded me in their direction.
The Quests sounds like the Asian Shadows! Actually one of the first things I learned on the guitar. Apache.
![]() 11/24/2015 at 00:24 |

Ah, what a classic. There were a lot of bands that copied the Shadows then. I’m sure you’re familiar with this epic rendition of Apache.
That song is a lot like the beginning to Stairway to Heaven. Everyone learns it on the guitar at some point.

That keyboard player must be the most happy man alive!!!! Hahaha, I didn’t know this one, but this one definitely is ending up as a bookmark!
I really dig their impression of Cavatina, the theme from the Deerhunter. I’m a great fan of the Shadows. Especially Hank B. Marvin.

That’s been an internet favorite for a few years now. It’s truly incredible.
Yeah, I love the Shadows, too. Such an instantly recognizable sound. I have a nice compilation on vinyl that I listen to a lot. That Deerhunter theme really is beautiful. They also did Miami Vice.

I also really liked the way Hank B Marvin appeared in the Young Ones with Cliff Richard, a true classic.

Wow, I haven’t seen that in years. That is classic. I loved that show so much in high school when they showed it on MTV. Hilarious. Rik and Vyvian are two of the funniest characters in the history of anything.

I’m a true fan of these. Did you ever see their (Mayal/Edmonson) other stuff like Filthy, Rich and Catflap or Bottom ? If not: Get it!
Vyvyan’s Anglia with flames is such an epic car. As were those bands playing in it: even Motörhead!!!
![]() 11/28/2015 at 00:56 |

I’ve seen clips of that stuff, but I never really watched it, I guess. You’re right, I should find it. I’m sure it’s out there.
Some really great bands played on that show. Madness, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, those weird bands only British people know. An epic show all around. I totally forgot about that Anglia. You need to get that on LaLD.
![]() 11/28/2015 at 12:24 |

Naming a character Eddy Hitler is hysteric, awesome. GET IT.
How could you forget that Anglia, Vyvyan used it for EVERYTHING. Even indoors.
I guess you’re right, I need that diecast. Did I ever tell you my dad’s first car was an Anglia?
![]() 11/29/2015 at 19:00 |

Haha. I remember that episode and the Anglia now.
You may have mentioned that before, yeah. Was it that model Anglia with the backwards rear window like an Ami?
![]() 11/30/2015 at 03:47 |
|
Yep, one of my Ami posts probably was the reason we discussed it anyway, that’s the one. It was red. He drove it a few months. Then it disintegrated.

Haha. I hope it wasn’t brand new.

Nope it wasn’t. It wasn’t 20 years old either. Best part was he bought it from some sort of family haha...
